Wrapping It Up

This may be my constant job description:  Wrapping things up.  Always trying to see a project to completion.  It’s been a good year with good projects, and as 2011 draws to a close, I’m trying to bring a couple of projects to the finish line.

Today it’s freezing cold in eastern New Mexico.  Temperatures won’t get out of the 20s for a couple of days, and there’s snow on the ground.  But the people who put houses and church buildings and stores together will keep carrying on, even though the working conditions will be far from pleasant.

As these crews work along with me, dealing with all kinds of weather and all kinds of inconveniences, I want to take a few minutes (in my warm office and comfortable chair) to give them all sincere thanks and appreciation.

I would like to start calling people by name, but there’s just no way to do that.  There are so many men and women who continually go above and beyond, always have something cheerful to say.  They drop what they’re doing to help me unload supplies when it has nothing to do with their portion of the job.  Our crews are always polite to the owners, and work hard to give them the very best.  They’re on their feet all day, and they go home tired at night.

To the workers and suppliers who keep Field Day, Inc. running smoothly – I thank you very much.    To all you bosses out there who run your business well, answer my calls day and night, and help me keep things rolling – thank you for making it happen.  While I’m thanking people for keeping this ship afloat – thank you to each and every one of you who trust us with your projects.   A great big thank you!

I wish you all a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.  Carry on!

Gary Fields – Field Day, Inc.
